In August 2023, the average import price for mollusc preparations; mussels, prepared or preserveds amounted to $7,970 per ton, with an increase of 36% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated tangible growth from November 2022 to August 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4% over the last nine-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on August 2023 figures, import price for mollusc preparations; mussels, prepared or preserveds increased by +35.8% against July 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 42% m-o-m. Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($11,972 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($4,232 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
