In 2022, the average import price for metals; platinum, unwrought or in powder forms amounted to $30,578,851 per ton, which is down by -12.2% against the previous year. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($41.4M per ton), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) ($29.8M per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
