In 2021, the average import price for metals; iridium, osmium, ruthenium, semi-manufactureds amounted to $1,382,612 per ton, reducing by -11.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price decreased by -10.5%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $1,750,141 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($1,248,667 per ton), while the price for the United States stood at $235,447 per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+26.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of metals; iridium, osmium, ruthenium, semi-manufactureds decreased by -52.2% to 32 kg for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 857% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 67 kg, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, metals; iridium, osmium, ruthenium, semi-manufactured imports reduced rapidly to $31K in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 725%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $93K, and then fell remarkably in the following year.
