The average import price for machinery for filtering or purifying gases stood at $19.2 per unit in September 2023, growing by 44% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a notable increase from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, import price for machinery for filtering or purifying gases decreased by -9.8% against July 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 69% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $22.2 per unit. From January 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($56.3 per unit), while the price for Spain ($4.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for machinery for filtering or purifying gases amounted to $12 per unit, increasing by 9.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 33%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $123 per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($19 per unit), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($5.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cyprus (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Machinery for Filtering or Purifying Gases in Greece
For the fourth year in a row, Greece recorded growth in supplies from abroad of machinery for filtering or purifying gases, which increased by 387% to 1.6M units in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded significant growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imports of machinery for filtering or purifying gases reduced rapidly to $22M in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +41.8% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 66% against the previous year.
