In 2022, the average export price for liquid margarine and edible mixtures of animal or vegetable fats amounted to $1,279 per ton, declining by -12% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 43% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,599 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,474 per ton, and then dropped in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($6,973 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($1,310 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+15.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
