In 2022, the average export price for liquid margarine and edible mixtures of animal or vegetable fats amounted to $1,279 per ton, declining by -12% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 43% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $1,599 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,474 per ton, and then dropped in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($6,973 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($1,310 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+15.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
