Price for Liquefied Petroleum Gases Other than Propane, Butanes, Ethylene, Propylene, Butylene or Butadiene in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average export price for liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes amounted to $681 per ton, with an increase of 25% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 91% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $817 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($35,444 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($568 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+44.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 113%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +48.8% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $13M, and then fell in the following year.

Overall, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 135%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 10K tons, and then dropped slightly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of liquefied petroleum gases other than propane, butanes, ethylene, propylene, butylene or butadienes soared to $9.4M in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 200% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
