The average lecithins and other phosphoaminolipids import price stood at $1,587 per ton in 2022, waning by -4.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 13%. The import price peaked at $2,837 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($19,118 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($635 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+28.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average export price increased by 43%. The export price peaked at $2,561 per ton in 2021, and then dropped in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($2,383 per ton), while the average price for exports to Rwanda amounted to $1,000 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Rwanda (-8.1%).

Imports of Lecithins and Other Phosphoaminolipids in Uganda

In 2022, approx. 69 tons of lecithins and other phosphoaminolipidses were imported into Uganda; waning by -13.4% against 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 37% against the previous year.
