In 2022, the average lead; powders and flakes import price amounted to $6,609 per ton, surging by 2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a precipitous slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 339% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $38,000 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Imports of Lead; Powders and Flakes in Portugal

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of lead; powders and flakeses decreased by -14.8% to 23 kg in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +15.3% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 42%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 27 kg, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, lead; powders and flakes imports dropped to $152 in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 451% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $193. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
