The average import price for lead; plates, sheets, strip and foil, lead powders and flakeses stood at $7,233 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 18% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 77%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $8,079 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($17,794 per ton), while the price for Turkey ($6,830 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+25.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third year in a row, Azerbaijan recorded decline in supplies from abroad of lead; plates, sheets, strip and foil, lead powders and flakeses, which decreased by -27.3% to 2.4 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a sharp decline.
In value terms, imports of lead; plates, sheets, strip and foil, lead powders and flakeses dropped to $17K in 2022. Overall, imports showed a dramatic curtailment.
