The average import price for lac; natural gums, resins, gum-resins and balsamses stood at $65,038 per ton in October 2023, rising by 574% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price posted a significant expansion. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($65,643 per ton), while the price for China stood at $40,633 per ton.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $10,929 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
