The average import price for iron ores and concentrates, non-agglomerated stood at $126 per ton in June 2023, picking up by 27% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild reduction. The import price peaked at $155 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Canada ($126 per ton), while the price for Brazil amounted to $126 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Brazil (+0.4%).

In June 2023, the average export price for iron ores and concentrates, non-agglomerated amounted to $79.3 per ton, increasing by 1.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 282% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $124 per ton. From February 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($81.0 per ton), while the average price for exports to China totaled $65.0 per ton.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+5.8%).

In 2022, overseas purchases of iron ores and concentrates, non-agglomerated decreased by -35.1% to 3.5M tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend.
