Price for Iron or Steel; Cast Articles in Slovenia (FOB) - 2023

The average export price for iron or steel; cast articleses stood at $3,563 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 5% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 12% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,066 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($6,024 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($2,070 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for iron or steel; cast articleses stood at $2,556 per ton in 2022, picking up by 4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 19%. The import price peaked at $2,615 per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,054 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($1,381 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
