In July 2023, the average import price for iron or steel; cast articleses amounted to $2,973 per ton, picking up by 8.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 11% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,984 per ton; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Thailand ($3,233 per ton) and China ($3,000 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($2,200 per ton) and Vietnam ($2,981 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for iron or steel; cast articleses stood at $3,619 per ton in July 2023, approximately equating the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2022 an increase of 27% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,132 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($5,414 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($1,256 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+5.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
