Over the last eight-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 11% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $224 per ton in July 2023, and then fell in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($1,434 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($201 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+24.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
