Price for Hot-Rolled Wire Rod in Coils in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
In December 2023, the average export price for hot-rolled wire rods in coils amounted to $586 per ton, picking up by 1.5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 6.5% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $687 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Poland ($586 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania amounted to $583 per ton.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Senegal (0.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for hot-rolled wire rods in coils stood at $982 per ton in December 2023, reducing by -77.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a abrupt decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2023 an increase of 408% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $5,161 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($3,955 per ton), while the price for Poland stood at $867 per ton.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
