Price for Hot-Rolled Wire Rod in Coils in Jordan (CIF) - 2022
The average import price for hot-rolled wire rods in coils stood at $1,025 per ton in December 2022, picking up by 4.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when the average import price increased by 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $1,171 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to December 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($1,126 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($1,007 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for hot-rolled wire rods in coils stood at $928 per ton in 2022, surging by 34% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, hot-rolled wire rod in coils export price increased by +80.9% against 2017 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($983 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($375 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
