The average export price for heaters; instantaneous or storage water heaters, non-electric, other than gasses stood at $287 per unit in October 2023, with a decrease of -16.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 13% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $364 per unit. From September 2023 to October 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In October 2023, the countries with the highest prices were North Macedonia ($319 per unit) and Albania ($286 per unit), while the average price for exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina ($268 per unit) and Ukraine ($276 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for heaters; instantaneous or storage water heaters, non-electric, other than gasses stood at $238 per unit in October 2023, waning by -43.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 48% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $624 per unit in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Serbia.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +18.9% per month.

For the fourth consecutive year, Bulgaria recorded growth in shipments abroad of heaters; instantaneous or storage water heaters, non-electric, other than gasses, which increased by 1.1% to 173K units in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 117%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, exports of heaters; instantaneous or storage water heaters, non-electric, other than gasses skyrocketed to $47M in 2022. Overall, exports showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 44%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
