The average import price for halogenated derivatives of aromatic hydrocarbons; chlorobenzene, o-dichlorobenzene, and p-dichlorobenzenes stood at $1,380 per ton in 2022, growing by 33% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, faced a deep reduction. The import price peaked at $5,461 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($3,503 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($1,169 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+8.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

For the third year in a row, Iran recorded decline in purchases abroad of halogenated derivatives of aromatic hydrocarbons; chlorobenzene, o-dichlorobenzene, and p-dichlorobenzenes, which decreased by -63.2% to 41 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a dramatic decrease. The smallest decline of -23.2% was in 2020.
In value terms, imports of halogenated derivatives of aromatic hydrocarbons; chlorobenzene, o-dichlorobenzene, and p-dichlorobenzenes dropped remarkably to $57K in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a dramatic setback. The smallest decline of -31.9% was in 2020.
