In 2022, the average export price for gingerbread, sweet biscuits and waffles amounted to $976 per ton, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 38%. The export price peaked at $1,130 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Lebanon ($1,580 per ton), while the average price for exports to Cote d'Ivoire ($648 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+217.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,520 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, approx. 12K tons of gingerbread, sweet biscuits and waffles were exported from Iran; increasing by 2.6% compared with 2021 figures. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 10% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 12K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
