In December 2023, the average export price for frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberrieses amounted to $1,546 per ton, growing by 9.3% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 37% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $2,078 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was France ($2,524 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($942 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average import price for frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberrieses stood at $4,191 per ton in 2022, increasing by 107% against the previous year. Overall, the import price enjoyed a buoyant expansion. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,605 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($2,903 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Armenia (+70.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of Frozen Raspberries, Blackberries, Mulberries, Loganberries, Black-, White- or Red Currants and Gooseberries in Ukraine

For the fourth consecutive year, Ukraine recorded growth in overseas shipments of frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberrieses, which increased by 38% to 41K tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 43% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, exports of frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberrieses rose notably to $103M in 2022. In general, exports posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 111%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 468%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 652 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports of failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, imports of frozen raspberries, blackberries, mulberries, loganberries, black-, white- or red currants and gooseberrieses dropped notably to $700K in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 393%.
