The average import price for flour, meal, and flakes of potatoeses stood at $2,105 per ton in August 2023, surging by 5.2% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 when the average import price increased by 9% month-to-month. The import price peaked in August 2023.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($3,114 per ton), while the price for India ($730 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $3,184 per ton in July 2023, and then fell slightly in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($3,701 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($597 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+10.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
