The average import price for flour, meal, and flakes of potatoeses stood at $1,739 per ton in September 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the last ten months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 an increase of 35% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in September 2023.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Belarus.

From November 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to +7.4% per month.

The average export price for flour, meal, and flakes of potatoeses stood at $2,302 per ton in September 2023, with a decrease of -2.6% against the previous month. Over the period from November 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 17% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,387 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were the UK ($3,179 per ton) and Japan ($2,922 per ton), while the average price for exports to Israel ($2,592 per ton) and Canada ($2,637 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+10.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
