In September 2023, the average import price for flour, meal, and flakes of potatoeses amounted to $2,596 per ton, reducing by -3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a strong increase from January 2023 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +6.3% over the last eight-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, import price for flour, meal, and flakes of potatoeses decreased by -9.4% against June 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 20% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,866 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from the Netherlands ($2,624 per ton) and Germany ($2,599 per ton), while the price for India ($2,105 per ton) and Belgium ($2,440 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+7.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
