Price for Flaked or Rolled Cereal in Turkey (FOB) - 2023

In September 2023, the average flaked or rolled cereal export price amounted to $401 per ton, which is down by -5.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2023 an increase of 35% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $524 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($829 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($341 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+4.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2023, the average flaked or rolled cereal import price amounted to $628 per ton, waning by -10.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 15% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $1,225 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,473 per ton), while the price for Iran ($245 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Exports of Flaked or Rolled Cereal in Turkey

In 2022, approx. 277K tons of flaked or rolled cereals were exported from Turkey; dropping by -16.4% on the previous year. In general, total exports indicated a modest increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +37.7% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 65% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 332K tons, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

In value terms, flaked or rolled cereal exports reduced slightly to $116M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 95%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $119M, and then fell in the following year.
