The average fish; live, ornamental, freshwater import price stood at $30,117 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -13.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, enjoyed temperate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 264% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $93,179 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,587,000 per ton), while the price for China ($5,359 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+3,520.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($281,731 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($6,161 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
