The average fish; live, ornamental, freshwater export price stood at $9,535 per ton in February 2022, growing by 15% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2021 when the average export price increased by 24% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $15,875 per ton in August 2021; however, from September 2021 to February 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($17,299 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($3,198 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2021 to February 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+6.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 32% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 947 tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, fish; live, ornamental, freshwater exports shrank to $10M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.0% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 36%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $12M, and then shrank in the following year.
