The average import price for fertilizers; mineral or chemical, nitrogenoi stood at $385 per ton in December 2021, rising by 22% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated buoyant growth from December 2020 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.4% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, fertilizers; mineral or chemical, nitrogenous import price increased by +134.1% against February 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2021 an increase of 32% month-to-month. The import price peaked in December 2021.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,069 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($259 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+11.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
