The average export price for fats and oils and their fractions; of fish, (excluding liver-oils)s stood at $4,925 per ton in September 2023, surging by 21% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to September 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +6.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 78% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $5,184 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to September 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($31,054 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iceland ($3,083 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+23.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
