Price for Ethylene Polymers; Waste, Parings and Scrap in the UK (FOB) - 2022
The average export price for ethylene polymers; waste, parings and scraps stood at $455 per ton in 2022, growing by 25% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for ethylene polymers; waste, parings and scraps increased by +112.6% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 47%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

In general, the import price showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 77% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1,019 per ton. From March 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($552 per ton), while the price for Ireland ($200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
