The average import price for ethylene polymers; waste, parings and scraps stood at $216 per ton in November 2023, rising by 8.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 33% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $298 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($366 per ton), while the price for Norway ($64.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the UK (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
