The average import price for ethylene polymers; waste, parings and scraps stood at $287 per ton in 2022, increasing by 6.1% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 65% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $336 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Algeria ($821 per ton), while the price for Romania ($142 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Algeria (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, export price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for ethylene polymers; waste, parings and scraps increased by +38.0% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 41% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $726 per ton, and then contracted modestly in the following year.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 205%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $7.2M, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
