Price for Ether-Alcohols and Their Halogenated, Sulphonated, Nitrated or Nitrosated Derivatives in Myanmar (CIF) - 2022
The average import price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) stood at $1,331 per ton in 2022, rising by 9.2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 23% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $2,177 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($2,140 per ton), while the price for Thailand ($741 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the fourth consecutive year, Myanmar recorded growth in overseas purchases of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol), which increased by 24% to 211 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 203%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, imports of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) soared to $281K in 2022. Overall, imports posted a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 104%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
