In August 2023, the average import price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) amounted to $2,103 per ton, waning by -4.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 47% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,146 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Overall, the export price posted a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 1,316% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,718 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($3,029 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($1,042 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
