Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 29% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,654 per ton, leveling off in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($13,038 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,574 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+16.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,005 per ton. From May 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($6,310 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($2,024 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
