In 2022, the average import price for ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) amounted to $1,705 per ton, which is down by -11.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 39%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,161 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($3,240 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($673 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+12.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third consecutive year, Bangladesh recorded decline in purchases abroad of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol), which decreased by -1% to 1.7K tons in 2022. In general, imports showed a abrupt descent.
In value terms, imports of ether-alcohols and their halogenated, sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives (excluding 2,2-oxydiethanol) shrank to $2.9M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 33%.
