In December 2023, the average import price for electric motors amounted to $6.2 per unit, falling by -8.6% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 47% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8.8 per unit. From February 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Albania ($13.7 per unit), while the price for Thailand ($2.1 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for electric motors stood at $7.8 per unit in December 2023, growing by 5% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 9.8% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $8.8 per unit in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to December 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($40.9 per unit), while the average price for exports to Morocco ($353 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Electric Motors; of an Output Not Exceeding 37.5W in Italy
In 2022, approx. 45M units of electric motors were imported into Italy; which is down by -10.8% against the previous year. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern.
