Price for Drawn Glass and Blown Glass in Indonesia (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for drawn glass and blown glass stood at $16 per square meter in 2022, declining by -42.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a slight setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 42%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $29 per square meter in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($23 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Uganda ($3.8 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Tanzania (+5.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for drawn glass and blown glass stood at $27 per square meter in 2022, which is down by -22.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 153% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $35 per square meter in 2021, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($72 per square meter), while the price for the UK ($15 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+34.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Exports of Drawn Glass and Blown Glass in Indonesia

In 2022, the amount of drawn glass and blown glass exported from Indonesia soared to 15K square meters, with an increase of 42% on the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, drawn glass and blown glass exports dropped dramatically to $233K in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a abrupt decline. The smallest decline of -0.8% was in 2020. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $355K in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
