The average import price for dithionites and sulphoxylates; of sodia stood at $2,650 per ton in August 2023, flattening at the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 38% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,629 per ton. From July 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,307 per ton), while the price for Italy ($1,987 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
