The average import price for dithionites and sulphoxylates; of sodia stood at $3,468 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -13.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 43% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $4,449 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($3,587 per ton), while the price for Italy amounted to $1,989 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+14.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for dithionites and sulphoxylates; of sodia amounted to $3,671 per ton, growing by 45% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, dithionites and sulphoxylates; of sodium export price increased by +79.7% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($5,924 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($1,951 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
