Price for Diethylene Glycol and Digol in China (CIF) - 2023
The average diethylene glycol and digol import price stood at $623 per ton in September 2023, rising by 3.3% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $874 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Oman ($622 per ton) and Canada ($622 per ton), while the price for Saudi Arabia ($621 per ton) and Kuwait ($622 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Oman (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Price for Diethylene Glycol and Digol in China (FOB) - 2022
The average diethylene glycol and digol export price stood at $1,061 per ton in 2022, rising by 23% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 85%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $2,439 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,957 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($749 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+24.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, purchases abroad of 2,2-oxydiethanol (diethylene glycol, digol) decreased by -8.8% to 541K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth.
