The average import price for cyanides, cyanide oxides and complex cyanideses stood at $3,639 per ton in 2022, picking up by 56% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The import price peaked at $4,257 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($18,570 per ton), while the price for China stood at $2,231 per ton.

In 2022, the average export price for cyanides, cyanide oxides and complex cyanideses amounted to $7,800 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 38%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $8,903 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($7,900 per ton), while the average price for exports to Georgia totaled $1,800 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Azerbaijan (+0.0%).

In 2022, imports of cyanides, cyanide oxides and complex cyanideses into Ukraine declined significantly to 3.5 tons, which is down by -95.9% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports showed a dramatic curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 249%.

In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 4.7%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 314 kg. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, exports of cyanides, cyanide oxides and complex cyanideses contracted modestly to $2.3K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern.
