The average import price for cumin seeds, crushed or ground stood at $4,987 per ton in June 2023, rising by 13% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 25% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $5,566 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Austria ($11,252 per ton), while the price for Poland ($2,145 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for cumin seeds, crushed or ground stood at $10,378 per ton in June 2023, jumping by 31% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.3%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($17,671 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($6,013 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
