The average export price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds stood at $12,597 per ton in October 2023, declining by -3.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 21% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $14,015 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to October 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($20,630 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($3,741 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds stood at $8,800 per ton in October 2023, waning by -7.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 28% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,549 per ton, and then fell in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($12,385 per ton), while the price for Chile ($3,490 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
