In August 2023, the average import price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds amounted to $11,905 per ton, jumping by 30% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.5%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($49,776 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($7,555 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+14.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
