The average import price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds stood at $13,817 per ton in November 2023, growing by 12% against the previous month. Over the period from November 2022 to November 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($43,226 per ton), while the price for the UK ($8,245 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In November 2023, the average export price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds amounted to $13,464 per ton, reducing by -19.6% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated resilient growth from November 2022 to November 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.3% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on November 2023 figures, export price for crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates, prepared or preserveds decreased by -19.6% against October 2023 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 104% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $17,527 per ton. From April 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Canada ($28,524 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($1,265 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
