The average import price for crustacean preparations; lobster, prepared or preserveds stood at $8,574 per ton in October 2023, with an increase of 71% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in June 2023 an increase of 471% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $16,789 per ton. From July 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In October 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($85,538 per ton), while the price for France ($6,465 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Denmark (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for crustacean preparations; lobster, prepared or preserveds amounted to $22,216 per ton, increasing by 71% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $22,755 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
