The average copper; refined, unwrought, billets export price stood at $7,605 per ton in 2022, dropping by -15.8% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 61%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,029 per ton, and then declined significantly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($8,579 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($2,930 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
