In 2022, the average export price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts amounted to $8,434 per ton, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts increased by +46.2% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 48% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $8,530 per ton, and then fell slightly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($9,911 per ton), while the average price for exports to Finland ($5,824 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+17.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts amounted to $15,884 per ton, increasing by 68% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a strong expansion. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($66,317 per ton), while the price for the United States ($11,333 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+16.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
