The average import price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts stood at $3,154 per ton in 2022, increasing by 1.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6,560 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($10,783 per ton), while the price for China ($2,661 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+14.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Rwanda ($47,351 per ton), while the average price for exports to Democratic Republic of the Congo stood at $804 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+38.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
