The average cocoa; paste, not defatted import price stood at $4,034 per ton in May 2023, reducing by -1.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 11% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $4,109 per ton in April 2023, and then contracted in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Turkey ($4,447 per ton) and Greece ($4,146 per ton), while the price for Slovenia ($3,900 per ton) and France ($3,970 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
